PASSION

ND FACTORY is Zurich's creative factory by Joël Giroud aka Akira. This is where ideas and projects, creations and art, works and exhibitions are made – with an invisible red thread running through it: the passion for urban lifestyle design. Whether through illustrations, paper sculptures, toy design, longboards and skateboards, photography or film – Joël Giroud aka Akira looks for new creative challenges and achieves exciting interpretations of popular cultural phenomena.

ORIGINS

Joël Giroud, born 1975 in Bern, attends the applied arts school in Vevey studying the specialist area of decoration. He subsequently works for many years in design and advertising agencies and perfects his manual artistic skills.

In 2008, Joël Giroud founds the project platform Naughty Design which makes itself a name as a creative and design factory for urban lifestyle – with results which are surprising, cheeky and somewhat naughty, and always go against the grain. In 2014, Naughty Design becomes ND Factory. Here, too, Joël Giroud tackles a number of techniques and media which he constantly re-combines. Thanks to its multifaceted style, which is both modern and timeless, the ND Factory manufactures exceptional contemporary works.
